Born on 8 July 2001, Nygren’s journey in football commenced at the tender age of 5–6 when he began showcasing his talent with Utbynäs SK. At the age of 12 in 2013, his prowess on the field led him to join IFK Göteborg. Following an impressive stint in the youth teams, Nygren marked his first-team debut for IFK Göteborg in a friendly match against Örgryte IS on 24 March 2018.

His exceptional skills did not go unnoticed, and in May 2018, Nygren inked his inaugural professional contract with Göteborg, a deal extending until the conclusion of 2020.
