Abrams began his career as a reporter for KTVX Channel 4 in Utah in the 1980s, later joining Court TV from May 1994 to June 1997. He covered various high-profile cases during this time.

Transitioning to MSNBC and NBC News, Abrams served as a general assignment correspondent before becoming Chief Legal Correspondent. He hosted “The Abrams Report” and held the position of General Manager of MSNBC. After leaving MSNBC, he concentrated on his show “Live with Dan Abrams” and later “Verdict with Dan Abrams.”

In March 2011, Abrams joined ABC News as Chief Legal Analyst, later becoming the Chief Legal Affairs Anchor and an anchor of “Nightline.” He stepped down from the full-time role in December 2014.

In 2016, Abrams launched LawNewz, later rebranded to Law&Crime. In 2018, he launched Ambo TV, a Christian TV streaming service.
