After she graduated, she started her career in 1990 as the chef at a French Bistro Cafe Claude and later moved into French fine dining at Masa’s with Chef Julian Serrano. In 1993, Elizabeth became the pastry chef at Elka in the Miyako Hotel, it was not long before she moved to Drew Nieporent’s Rubicon where she became the pastry chef under the supervision of Chef Traci Des Jardins in 1994.
Elizabeth opened Citizen Cake in 1997 in the South of Market district of San Francisco. She later started teaching professional pastry courses in Japan from 2001 to 2002 and from 2002 to 2003, Elizabeth became the chef on a team doing research for American and European pastries for Barilla in Parma Italy.
She has been a guest judge on a reality television show on the Bravo network called “Top Chef” in 2006. In 2005, Elizabeth competed on Iron Chef America, Tyler’s Ultimate, Sugar Rush, Bay Cafe, Top Chef-Pastry and $40 a day.
