Lady Bunny born Jon Ingle is an American drag queen, nightclub DJ. She is most famously emcee, promoter and founder of the annual Wigstock festival. The wild drag festival of drag and music which electrified fans in New York for over 20 years.
Bunny has also released disco singles such as “The Pussycat Song” and “Shame, Shame, Shame!” She has also appeared in films such as Party Girl, Wigstock: The Movie, Peoria Babylon, Starrbooty, Another Gay Movie, and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.

She began her career alongside Larry Tee and RuPaul as a fixture on the Atlanta gay scene. They also appeared in a variety of low-budget films with them, including the Starbooty series. In 1984, Bunny moved to New York City and became one of the Club Kids. In 1985, she created Wigstock an annual drag queen festival that lasted until 2005. She frequently performs at XL Nightclub with Bianca Del Rio.
Her style of drag performance involves lip-synching to a compilation of karaoke versions of popular songs. This is over which she has recorded her own, sung vocal parodies of the original lyrics. Her new lyrics are usually sexually explicit, they revolve around food, or even both. For example, her parody of the Gwen Stefani song Hollaback Girl has the lyric: “I shit a banana/a banana in my ass!” She has also released video parodies of “Santa Claus is coming to town” and of “California Gurls” .
Her January, 2011, parody of “Harper Valley PTA”, entitled “The Ballad of Sarah Palin”, lampooned the American politician as portrayed by Palin imitator Dorothy Bishop. On July 1, 2013, Lybra Records released remixes of Lady Bunny’s collaboration with Wayne Numan, “Take Me Up High.” It became her first Billboard Club or Dance hit peaking at #17 in September 2013.
In October 2014, she released “Lately” (Remixes) her collaboration with New York City Producers, club DJ’s Sean Grasty and DJ Rikky Rivera better known as Groove Addix. Her vocal of “Lately” is already creating a buzz globally in the underground club scene. “Lately” will be released on the UK House label Enriched Records. Enriched Records is owned by Rich B who is a well known DJ/Artist on London’s gay club scene.
She then collaborated with New York producer Ursula 1000 on his track “Blast Off!” This is from his album Voyeur in 2016.
She also works as a journalist and keeps a high profile with her weekly “Star Style Report” for star magazine. She also writes regularly for various other publications including Visionaire, Paper, Instinct, Genre, V, Interview and Time Out New York. She has also made frequent TV and Film appearances which bring his name to the worldwide masses.
As a talking head for TV networks like E! and VH1 and also having appearances on Comedy Central’s “Pam Anderson Roast,” HBO’s “Sex and the City” and Britney Spears’ MTV special “In the Zone & Up All Night.” Also in feature films such as Not Another Gay Movie 2, Dragtime, Party Girl, and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar. She is no stranger to the various demographic pools. She has even been consistently mentioned on the international hit show “Will & Grace,” cementing her status as an icon.

The show aired on the Logo TV network from 2010 to 2012. She was Dean of Drag and had a role of judge in the first season. In the second season of RuPaul’s Drag U. The Dean of Drag role was expanded into a segment called “Lady Lessons”. In the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, contestant Alaska Thunderfuck 5000 impersonated Bunny for the Snatch Game.

The Empire State Pride Agenda’s latched onto her as their regular DJ for almost a decade now. They claimed that they had been doing the event for years but she was the first DJ to get their crowd to dance.” As the in-house DJ for Visionaire and V magazine, she literally travelled the globe spinning atop the Eiffel Tower, Tokyo’s Mori Tower, the Fendi Showroom in Milan, London’s Harvey Nichols, The Delano in Miami.
She was also the first DJ ever to spin at Paris’s palatial L’Opera Garnier. It lead to even more high profile DJ gigs like Van Cleef & Arpel’s 40th birthday bash in Paris and also The Standard’s Black Out Party in NYC celebrating Naomi.
