Nick Carter Wife: Meet Lauren Kitt – Nick Carter was arrested on January 2, 2002, at the Pop City nightclub in Tampa, Florida, and charged with a misdemeanor count of resisting/opposing a law enforcement officer without violence.

Carter received his first DUI in 2003 or 2004 after refusing to comply with the police. Carter pled guilty to the charges and was sentenced to $1,200 in fines, three years of informal probation, 90 days of driving restrictions, and completion of a three-month alcohol education program.

Carter was arrested on January 13, 2016, at Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West, Florida, after he was refused service due to “high levels of intoxication.” Carter was asked to leave by management and was charged with misdemeanor battery after a physical altercation with the bar’s bouncers.

Carter has admitted to ongoing drug and alcohol abuse issues. He revealed that he began drinking at the age of two and then again at the age of nine.

He claims that he became sober after being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and realizing that if he did not make major lifestyle changes, he would die. The singer attributes his success to fellow Backstreet Boys member Kevin Richardson, who gave him Norman Vincent Peale’s book Why Some Positive Thinkers Get Powerful Results.

His first role was as the lead in Miles Elementary School’s fourth-grade production of Phantom of the Opera. His performance was so energetic that he received a standing ovation, with audience members crying over how wonderful the boy’s voice projected.

He also did an educational video called “Reach For a Book,” a show called “The Klub,” and two years of home games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also appeared as a child on a Slip ‘N Slide in Tim Burton’s 1990 film Edward Scissorhands.

Between 1989 and 1993, Carter recorded several popular songs, including “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do” and “Uptown Girl,” as well as a few original songs that he would perform at events, with one of his dance teachers, Sandy.

These recordings were included on Dynamic Discs, Inc.’s unofficial release Before the Backstreet Boys 1989-1993, which was released in October 2002.

Carter met AJ McLean and Howie Dorough at auditions and they became friends, it was revealed. He and his siblings were raised in an unusual, dysfunctional family. He had a difficult childhood because his parents were constantly fighting and screaming at each other.

Growing up, Carter’s friends were either dead, drug addicts, or in prison, and eventually, performing became Carter’s most massive escape from his problems. He won the 1992 New Original Amateur Hour when he was 12 years old.
