The competition was judged by none other than Karthik Subbaraj, a well-known filmmaker in the industry. Impressed by Lokesh’s creative prowess, Karthik encouraged him to pursue a career in film direction, setting the stage for a remarkable transformation.

In 2016, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s talents as a filmmaker came to the fore when his short film, “Kalam,” was featured as part of the anthology film “Aviyal,” produced by Karthik Subbaraj. This marked the beginning of his journey as a director.

Beyond “Leo,” Lokesh Kanagaraj has announced plans to direct Rajinikanth in his 171st film, tentatively titled “Thalaivar 171.” This exciting project will be produced by Sun Pictures, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
