Milton Rubenfeld served as a pilot for Britain’s Royal Air Force and the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Later, he became one of the pioneering pilots of the Israeli Air Force during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. As an Orthodox Jew, he played a significant role as one of five Jewish pilots who flew against Arab forces in clandestinely acquired fighter planes.
