Who is Johnny Stevens?

Johnny Stevens is an American Rock singer, songwriter, and musician. He was born on 10th April 1986 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, United States. He is of mixed ethnicity – white and native American. Stevens had a terrifying childhood experience; his mother left home when he was just one-year-old, leaving him and his brother for their dad. From then on, his father raised him together with his only brother and sibling.

As for Johnny Stevens’ physical qualities, the most striking thing about him is the numerous tattoo drawings he has on different parts of his body, with the eagle inked on the front part of his neck being the most prominent. He is hazel-eyed, with tall trimmed stature and a pretty facial looks.

Music Career

Johnny Stevens developed a strong passion for rock music from a very young age. On finishing from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, he briefly worked as a plumber in his neighborhood to make ends meet. He also tried to practice his talents by doing cover songs at local bars and music festivals. Stevens continued this way until he met the Meyer brothers with whom he formed a band. In 2018, Johnny Stevens decided to extend his music career to disc jockeying. According to the Highly Suspect star, he wants to become the world’s best DJ.

Highly Suspect

Johnny Stevens collaborated with two of his neighborhood friends to create the rock music band, Highly Suspect in 2009. “Highly Suspect” is a three-man rock band group comprising Stevens and twin brothers Rich and Ryan Meyer. While Johnny Stevens is the band’s chief founder and lead singer, Rich and Ryan are backing vocals. Stevens is also the lead guitarist and pianist while Rich and Ryan play bass guitar and drums respectively. The band focuses on different types of Rock Music including Hard Rock, Alternative Rock, Blues Rock, Punk Blues, grunge, and so on. Just like Stevens’ kind of music, the band usually sing about their personal life experiences.

The Highly Suspect trio started off with what Johnny was previously doing – performing covers in their local community and subsequently at music festivals. They did a lot of Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd music; they looked up to them as their role models. In the same 2009 they established, the band released their first Extended play, “First Offense”  comprising their original songs. The EP fell short of only a few songs to be regarded as a full-fledged album. After this, Stevens with his band relocated to Brooklyn, New York where their second Extended Play, “The Gang Lion EP” followed in 2010.

In 2011, Stevens’ band released their debut album, Highly Suspect, a 14-track collection comprising a compilation of both old and new songs. In 2012, the Hard Rock trio released their third EP, “The Worst of Humans.” This was followed by yet another EP in 2013 titled “Black Ocean.” Two years later, they released their first independent studio album, Mister Asylum. The album was mainly about Johnny Stevens’ struggles with extreme anxiety and panic attacks when he was 25. It turned out a hit and earned the band a record-breaking spot on 300 Entertainment.

In 2016, they released another album, The Boy Who Died Wolf. 2017 was a good year for Johnny and his band; the group conducted a grande concert in Koko, London which became a hit, earning them international fame. In addition, they earned a Grammy Award nomination as well as an Alternative Press Music Award nomination for their performance.

In 2018, they were also nominated for an iHeartRadio Music Award. Stevens, alongside his band, has also been lucky enough to tour with bigger and more popular bands including Sevendust, 10 Years, and Monster Truck. As at January 2019, the Highly Suspect trio are on the verge of releasing their third studio album.

Is He Married, Who Is His Wife Or Girlfriend?

Johnny Stevens is not married yet. He is currently dating a girl who goes by the Instagram name, Kydids. Based on a track of Kydids’ Instagram posts, it appears they started dating around 2017. Johnny has, however, not come out clear about his relationship with Kydids. He has never spoken to the media about the nature or stage of their affair.

Meanwhile, Stevens’ lyrics hint that the Hard Rock star has actually dated a number of women. Since Johnny always sings about his personal experiences, he is fond of bringing his relationship issue and girlfriends, including his exes into his songs. His singles, “Lydia” and “Chicago” which are both about his ex-girlfriends are typical examples.
